Print speed (ppm) — faster is better if you print many pages. For light home use, 15-20 ppm is okay; for office use, 25+ ppm is better.
Page yield / cost per page (toner cost) — make sure replacement toner isn’t too expensive. Some HP models have high consumable cost.
Connectivity options — USB, WiFi, WiFi Direct, Ethernet. If you want to print from phones/tablets, WiFi or WiFi-direct helps.
Scanner quality — optical resolution (dpi), whether flatbed only or with an ADF (automatic document feeder) if doing multi-page scanning.
Duty cycle / monthly volume — what the printer can handle reliably per month. Overloading a low-duty home model causes wear.
